![]() As one of the official partners of Ascot Racecourse, you would think that Betfair Weekend would be all about horseracing and horse race betting however this appears not to be wholly the case. Betfair Weekend runs from 24th July until 26th July at Ascot Racecourse and there will be racing and horse race betting but there will be another ingredient that is completely outside of the normal sports and horse race betting box – music! Betfair in conjunction with Ascot Racecourse have some of the top pop, rock and classical artists around to perform in a weekend full of sporting excitement and music. The Betfair Weekend event kicks off on the Friday after the days racing and horse race betting with a full package of classical music entertainment which includes an electrifying performance from the glamorous string quartet, Escala. The Welsh Soprano Natasha Marsh will also perform alongside Escala and also will sing with classical four man choir Blake. On Saturday racing starts at 2.00pm with the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes after the racing at around 6.00pm the Betfair music extravaganza commences with music from The Fins then a performance from Supergrass. Sunday is Family Funday, Betfair and Ascot make sure that there is something for everyone to enjoy so as well as the racing with horse race betting at 1.40pm featuring the five furlong £70,000 Hong Kong Sprint, there is masses of free entertainment for the children such as a tour of the racecourse, face painters, fairground rides and a performance from the Crazy Bears which all goes to provide a thrilling day for the whole family. Then after the racing, there will be a little bit of pop magic with a concert from Abba tribute band Bjorn Again. Tickets for Betfair Weekend ( horse race betting not included) are very reasonably priced for such a full package of racing and entertainment, and best of all children under 16 can go completely free.
