Celebrity Big Brother 2009 has kicked off on Channel 4 and as expected actor Verne Troyer is a Celebrity Big Brother roomie, and the third member of the ‘celebrities’ to enter the Big Brother house this year. Presented with her usual panache Davina McCall, introduced the housemates to the hungry crowd. First in to the fray was La Toya, big sister to the bizarre Michael Jackson, who was greeted by the crowd with a mixture of cheers and jeers. Just before Verne Troyer graced the famous house, Mutya Buena the former member of girl band the Sugababes entered experiencing a much better reception from the crowd than La Toya had received. Verne Troyer was a very popular choice with the audience, although diminutive in stature he was a positive giant in his determination to make his grand entrance to the house unaided and although it was a bit of a struggle he managed to cope with the transporting of his bag in indomitable style. Putting all thoughts for political correctness to one side, the watching audience members murmured their support for the actor on his journey into the Big Brother House. Verne is as expected the current bookies favourite to win this year’s Celebrity Big Brother pantomime a position that he has held since before even being officially named as a contestant. There was yet another Socialist to enter the Big Brother House this year and was the next ‘victim’ through the doors in the shape of Politician Tommy Sheridan, Mr Sheridan also received a very mixed reception from the baying crowd. For the lads there was model Lucy Pinder who was followed by former boy band A1 member, Ben Adams who proved to be a very popular choice with the watching ladies and who is currently receiving some very receptive blog comments on the Big Brother official website. Number seven to walk up the famous steps was actress Tina Malone, closely followed by rapper Coolio. Another ex-band member Michelle Heaton of Liberty X was the next eagerly awaited entrant followed next by Terry Christian the former presenter of cult ‘Yoof’ show of the 90’s The Word. Last, but certainly least to enter the house was the famous 4x4 Ulrika Jonsson, so named after her rather tangled love life which resulted in 4 children by different partners. Certainly there has been an awful lot of tabloid fodder entering the Big Brother House this year, the makers clearly hoping that this mix will prove to be popular with the viewers. Bookies are offering odds on not only who will win, but who the top female or male might be, the top 3 celebrities and which sex the winner will be.
