Setanta Sports offer a World of Boxing

Setanta Sports have secured a partnership with Top Rank to exclusively broadcast the following live boxing events; the IBO, IBF and WBO World Heavyweight fight between Wladimir ‘Dr. Steel Hammer’ Klitschko and Hasim ‘The Rock’ Rahman and the WBO Junior Welterweight title fight between Kendall Holt and Ricardo Torres. The Klitschko v Rahman and Holt v Torres fights take place at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey in the USA on Saturday 13th December 2008.

Glass Chin Could Be The Decider!

The live boxing match between Klitschko v Rahman fight is available to view on Setanta’s live boxing progamme on the 13th December at 10 pm and is bound to be an electrifying affair. Klitschko has chosen a challenger that is likely to give him a run for his money to replace the original challenger Alexander Povetkin who has a foot injury and so is unable to fight. Rahman is known to exploit any boxing weaknesses to the fullest and in January 2001 took out Lennox Lewis in the 5th round using his exceptional power and reach. It is well known in boxing circles that Klitschko has a weak chin and so it is undoubtedly where Rahman will attempt to make his mark. This fight will keep everyone on the edge of their seats to see how well Klitschko will do at defending his world boxing titles.

Controversial Pair Meet Again

The live boxing broadcast of the Holt v Torres fight starts at 2.00am on the 14th December, with the WBO Junior welterweight title that Kendall Holt currently holds under dispute yet again and provides the prospect of some exciting grudge match boxing. Holt and Torres have met twice before and have each won a match each on their previous meetings, this therefore is the ultimate decider of this 140 pound competition. Columbian born Holt has 24 wins under his belt whilst Torres has had 32 wins, the pair on paper are evenly matched in height and age etc., but there has been much controversy over Torres and Holt’s previous clashes. In the first there were claims that a beer can and water were thrown at Holt which hampered his performance allowing the way clear for a win by Torres and in the second boxing match Holt won in just over 1 minute of the first round due to misjudgement by Torres.
