Betting Systems

Whilst there are only three categories of betting systems that of Negative Progression Betting (bet increased on a loss to hopefully reverse a losing streak), Positive Progression Betting (bet increased each time on the eventuality of a win) and Insurance Betting Systems (bet decreased in the event of a loss, damage limitation), the betting strategies within the categories are numerous.

Three examples of these betting systems are as follows; Martingale betting system is a risky business and would be classified as a Negative Progression Bet, certainly not for the faint-hearted this betting system requires a substantial bankroll and a high degree of bravery (or stupidity), bets are increased each time there is a loss in the assumption that due to the high proportion of losses that a win will eventually result. The D’Alembert although very similar to the Martingale system will allow for retention of most of any winnings received, this is possible because each time a win is obtained the following bet will be less. The Paroli is a Positive Progression betting system and is essentially the same as the Martingale with the difference being that bets are continually increased on any wins thus making the most of a winning streak.

Another advantage of using a betting exchange is the laying systems as well as the more traditional backing. To lay a bet is betting that a win will not occur rather than backing which is betting to win.
